The route for the L.A. marathon crosses the district each spring. Carnaval and the marathon are the two big annual events that jam the area; but both are highly celebrated despite the congestion.

Parks & Recreation

Running and walking through the neighborhood is easy due to the flat terrain. For people who like hills and hiking, nearby Runyon Canyon is a popular recreation area that rewards climbers with panoramic views of the L.A. Basin.
