Unlike other posts floating around with a similar name across the internet, I thought of investing my time into something a little simpler. These plugins that I mention here can be used straight out of the box. Yes, they have several different parameters that can be changed but it is not necessary for almost all WordPress users. Besides, they have served me quite well for some time now.
After seeing several of my websites hacked or crippled under DDoS attacks, I made it a personal mission to find the best free plugin that offers some amount of protection from scrupulous folks out there.
I found Sucuri works great straight out of the box. Though its options give you a lot more power but if you don’t want to change anything it works just as well right after activation.
If you don’t have it already, get it right now. Yoast SEO is the only thing you really need today when it comes to SEO and it is free. Yoast gives you a complete control panel for everything but what sets it apart is that you get a small per page SEO panel that controls most on-page SEO settings. Best of all, it gives you a good idea about the SEO score on-page.
This is the most useful plugin I have come across thus far. Loginizer does one thing and one thing only – it controls your login portal and ensures that DDoS attacks never work. It does this by limiting the number of attempts one can make before getting locked out for some time. Plus, there’s a limited times every individual or User ID gets before getting locked for 24 hours.
There you have it, simple but useful plugins for everyday operations on WordPress that I always use no matter the project or kind of website I am creating. I use these plugins for my own projects and that of my clients too.
